Steve founded The Brooklyn Dispatch as an independent home for film criticism, festival coverage and writing about the culture surrounding movies. His interest has always been in the way films continue beyond the cinema, shaping conversations, places and everyday life.

Based in Brooklyn, Steve writes about new releases alongside older films worth returning to, with occasional detours into books, music and the places that find their way into those conversations. He has previously covered the Cannes Film Festival and other U.S.-based festivals.

When he isn't watching or writing about films, Steve can usually be found at a cinema somewhere in New York, looking through a record store or playing soccer in North Brooklyn.
